Historic memorabilia

We are interested in historic memorabilia that might relate to Fly Rod Crosby.  The post card shown here, for instance, was discovered in an antiques shop outside of Maine and was sent to a committee member some years ago.  People may have copies of newspapers that her column appeared in, post cards featuring Fly Rod, original correspondence from her, or family records of personal anecdotes.  If you know of any such keepsakes or souvenirs, we would like to know.  Scans or other suitable images would be appreciated as well.

Fundraisers

If you would like to organize a fundraiser to benefit this cause and want us to share that information here, please contact us.

By mail please note on check: "for friends of fly rod"

A check may be sent directly, made payable  to “Maine Guides Education Fund” or “MGEF.”   On your check please include the, FOR FRIENDS OF FLY ROD.  Thank you!

About Donating

The Friends of Fly Rod is a committee of volunteers solely dedicated to the single purpose of creating this three-dimensional, outdoor, life-size or greater, permanent representation of Miss Crosby to stand at the MDIFW Headquarters in Augusta.

The Friends of Fly Rod are partnering with the Professional Maine Guides Association and its Maine Guides Education Fund (MGEF) to process donations.  The MGEF is a 501(c)(3) public charity, which means that donations are tax-deductible in the USA.

The MGEF has established a separate account at Katahdin Trust Co. to hold funds received for this cause.  All contributions to this account will go to the creation of the statue, minus necessary fees, e.g., web site hosting.

Contributions will be accepted until the funding goal has been met.  Recurring donations are welcome, uch as a contribution each year, (2025, 2026, 2027).  Donations of $250 or more will be acknowledged by a mailed receipt in keeping with IRS regulations.
